Route of HS2 announced through Measham
I was beginning to think why haven't any plans or drawings been submitted for the Measham Wharf Development
I was also thinking why would anyone want to spend £40 million on the Measham Wharf development
I also thought that Andrew Bridgen was a TAD abrupt on the BBC this morning, whats wrong with him?
Watch Andrew Bridgen on the BBC
Do we need planning paralysis when it comes to the development of 450 houses on this site
Then I thought maybe I should look at the proposed route of HS2, whats going on?
So there we have it

Route for HS2 |
Nice to see some thoughts soon?
We needed to come up with a new plan to get some profit for the stake holders, and produce a better scheme for Measham, we now need to think about what is best for the site before and after the HS2 comes through.
My plan would to bring the National Forest into the Heart of Measham, producing an environment to protect the Ridge and Furrow, the Skylarks in the Field and the Kingfishers in the brook.
Adding exercise walks with open space, ponds ands and trees, to make up for the destruction of the Forest on its way North
Is this is an opportunity to create a true community project?
i think if i had to choose between the housing project or the hs2 it would be the train ( as long as it stops the housing) the canal is a nice idea but if to have it they have to build 400+ houses we are better off without it
ReplyDeletein my opinion anyway
Your right, even the Railway Station has never been brought into the village, it still has a security fence around it, we need a better project for Measham, not a little bit of canal and 450 houses. We need a community backed project.
ReplyDeleteCommunity? Forest? Wildlife? Thou jest, surely? Where would be the money in THAT for the council? Not only will they not be getting their cut from the developers, residents tend not to pay for healthy pursuits such as birdwatching and walking!
